Why it looks like this

A resale desk cannot dress anything up: goods arrive as they are, so the written description carries all the weight. We took that look and left the rest, white paper, one hairline frame, a tilted stamp, a tag filled in by hand, the leaf as the only dark thing on the page. The tea is new; only the layout comes from the second-hand trade. Under each tea sits a lot line: origin, grade, form, nothing else. Seven classes of Chinese tea, thirty-four sorts, our own photography of what actually ships. If the page reads as paperwork rather than an advertisement, that is the intention.
