Chinese tea · one red, printed matter
Bone paper, one flat red, one black photograph. Thirty-four Chinese teas laid out as issues: a number, a barcode, a line of print credits and the leaf shot flat.

The page is built from a magazine grid, so every tea is treated as an issue rather than a product tile. One red is used for everything that has to be found first, which means the photograph never competes with a second accent. The paper is left off-white and slightly warm, because tea photographed on pure white loses the difference between a dark leaf and a black shadow. Crop marks, barcode and print credits stay visible instead of being cleaned away: they are the record of how the sheet was made, and a tea is also a record of how it was made. Chinese tea carries a lot of numbers already, harvest, altitude, oxidation, steeping time, and this layout has a place for each of them in mono at the foot of the page. The result reads as documentation, not as advertising, which is the point.
