Everything in this shop sits in a single narrow band between sand and shadow, so the only real contrast in the frame belongs to the leaf. Silk is used because it holds a gradient the way no flat ground can, and a fold does the work that a border or a box would otherwise have to do. Type is set small, light and widely spaced, low in the composition, so reading it is a second act rather than the first. Chinese tea is usually sold loudly, with red seals and gold foil, and this is the opposite argument: that a tea can be presented at conversational volume and lose nothing. Dark pu-erh and silver bud both look correct against greige, which is why the palette does not change per category. No black, no white, no accent colour, and nothing on the page that the fabric cannot already do.
