Why everything here is wet and shiny

Dark fermented liquor really is glossy: it takes a rim of light the way chrome does. This shop pushes that single coincidence as far as it goes, with inflated mirror lettering, mercury falling like syrup, gradients running pink into orange into cold blue, corners rounded all the way and no hard edge left on the page. The rendering stops where the leaf begins. Every reflection is built around a photograph of the actual tea, and the leaf is never repainted to match the palette. The idiom is studied from the 3D illustrator Leo Natsume, taken openly and without his involvement; the scenes are our own. Thirty-four Chinese teas under the gloss, and the same picture on cotton.
