A badge does one thing well: it says who made this and refuses to be modest about it. Applied to tea, that turns out to be honest — a Chinese tea is a specific garden in a specific year, and the plate has room for exactly that. The oval, the script and the ribbon are kept as they would be in enamel, with hard edges and no gradients, because enamel cannot fade a colour into another one. The photograph of the leaf sits where the enamel field would be, so the product becomes the coloured part of the badge rather than a picture pasted next to it.
