The identity is a fracture rather than a shape: the rectangle is cut into shards and the pieces are pushed outward, so the composition has direction without an arrow. Some shards are flat colour and some are filled with the product photograph, which lets an image and a graphic occupy the same plane instead of sitting in layers. The centre is always left intact, because a system that breaks everything reads as noise, and here the thing that does not break is the tea. Palette is pulled from the material — gold, brown, forest green — with one brighter sliver allowed per sheet to keep the arrangement from settling. Chinese tea works with this because it arrives already broken and reassembled: pressed, chipped, crumbled, pried apart from a cake.
